‘Fire-breathing Alfa Romeo Giulietta Ti spits flames at the Revival’ is the only time we ever want to hear the words ‘fire’ and ‘Alfa Romeo Giulietta Ti’ in the same sentence.
The wheels of five-time Le Mans winner Emanuele Pirro for part one of the St Mary’s Trophy presented by Motul, and for motoring journalist Richard Meaden for part two, this lovely little Giulietta Ti has some anger in its belly. Watch as Pirro slides the little Alfa past Austins, Volvos and Jaguars, singeing the grass as he goes.

What is it: This Alfa Romeo Giulia is aiming high, squarely at the German entry-luxury sedan leaders. The Giulia comes in two flavors: The car driven here is the four-cylinder model with optional all-wheel drive. The next step on the ladder is a big one, up to the mighty 505-hp Quadrifoglio. The Giulia was the first of six vehicles on the new Giorgio platform, the Stelvio crossover second. Still to come are another crossover or two, a Giulia-based coupe and a sedan larger than the Giulia.
Key Competitors: BMW 3 Series, Mercedes-Benz C Class, Audi A4
Base Price: $40,991 As Tested Price: $46,490
Highlights: With its short front and rear bumpers, muscular side panels and tight, flowing lines down the hood into Alfa’s signature V-shape grille, the Giulia definitely instills some beautiful, and much-needed, design into the compact luxury market.
